WELCOME
Welcome! My name is Thad Noyes, and The Pulpit & the Pew is my personal blog. I live with my wife and three children (number four is due in November) in western Colorado, where I pastor a Southern Baptist church.
ABOUT
The Pulpit & The Pew exists to encourage both gospel ministers and church members in our desire to be more faithful, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled servants of the One True and Living God.
BELIEFS
Broadly speaking, this blog is committed to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the centrality of the gospel, the sovereignty of God in salvation, the necessity of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God as the overarching end for which all things exist.
For a more detailed summary, I would be in substantial agreement with confessions such as The Abstract of Principles or The New Hampshire Confession of Faith.
COMMENTS
I would love to get to know you, so please feel free and encouraged to leave a comment or say hello. All are welcome to participate, and legitimate disagreements are allowed, as long as comments are made in a spirit of charity and edification, and not just to pick a fight (remember 2 Timothy 2:24). In the end, I pray that what takes place here is helpful to both those in the pulpit and the pew.
