The Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garulus) is a unique looking bird that gets its name (Bohemian) from its nomadic winter behavior. They are not common birds at feeders, and don’t seem to stay in one place long, so I was very thankful to get this shot. Click on the photo for a larger image.

Wild Weekend: Bald Eagles

About ten minutes from where I live there are a couple of bald eagles wintering in the cottonwoods along the river. I recently photographed them while elk hunting. They really are magnificent creatures. And to think Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey for the national bird!
